SHIVA'S SUMMONERS;
RYDIA; Final Fantasy IV
Rydia was a small child when she first met Cecil and Cain. A caller from the town Mist, her mother died when her Phantom Beast -- a white dragon -- was accidently killed by the heros. At first, she did not trust the Dark Knight but after Cecil saved her from some soldiers, she decided to join him on his journey. Later on, Rydia was swallowed by Leviathan who reared her in the Phantom World where time passed very differently than in the ordinary world. When she finally rejoined Cecil, she had aged to an adult. Also, she had lost the ability to cast White magic which she had had as a child, but had become a poweful Black Mage. In battle, she equipped whips.
GARNET; Final Fantasy IX
Princess Garnet Til Alexandros 17th was not born into royalty but into the tribe of the summoners who dwelled in Madain Sari. When the village was destroyed by Garland, Garnet -- actually named Sara -- escaped with her mother who died on route to safety. When she arrived in Alexandria, she became part of a deception: her summoner's horn was cut off and she assumed the identity of the recently-deceased Princess Garnet. For years, she was ignorant of her true origins but it came to light when she was willingly kidnapped by the thief/actor Zidane in order to escape the clutches of her greedy mother and the mysterious weapons dealer, Kuja. Initially fearing her summoning power, she restrained from using them but she then lost them to Queen Brahne's machinations. The queen proceded to use the eidolons for her own purposes which included destroying several neighboring kingdoms. After meeting Ramuh at Pinnacle Rocks and earning the chance to be his new master, Garnet endeavored to learn and control her ability to summon. Later, however, when she lost her voice, her ability to summon was affected adversely because of her lack of concentration. In battle, she used rods and magic rackets.
YUNA; Final Fantasy X
The daughter of the famous summoner Braska, Yuna was raised in the temple on the island of Besaid after her father's death, then followed in his footsteps to become a summoner. On her mother's side, she was part Al Bhed, and cousin to Rikku, the Al-Bhed cheiftain's daughter. Vowing to defeat Sin, Yuna journeyed to each Yevon temple and acquired its resident Aeon with the help of her guardians, which included Tidus, a young man from Zanarkand. Once she has gathered them all, she had planned to defeat Sin, even though she knew that the end will mean her death. Ultimately however, Yuna understood that the Final Aeon was a false Yevon teaching and worked to find another way to end Sin's reign of terror. This new but true path to Sin's destruction meant that she was forced to destroy not only the famous guardian Jecht, who had become a fayth, but also her own aeons before Yu-Yevon could be destroyed. In battle, she was classified as a white summonner whose Pray ability enabled her allies to recover HP and carried the traditional summoner's staff.
