This is the script of Jecht's final conversation with Tidus and Auron just before the last series of battles begin. It takes place inside Sin, at the top of the Tower of the Dead, a place called "Dream's End." Scene: Tidus, Auron and the group are standing a length away from Jecht, who has his back turned to them. They stand on a platform, which overlooks the dying Zanarkand. Auron steps forward, Tidus beside him. Jecht: You're late, Auron. Auron: I know. Jecht turns around. Jecht: Hey. waves to Tidus. Tidus: Hi. Jecht: Hah! You got tall, but you're all bones! You eating right, boy? pauses. You're really grown. Tidus: Yeah, but you're still bigger. Jecht: Well, I am Sin, you know. Tidus: That's not funny. Jecht: Well, then...I mean...you know. Let's end this. Tidus: Dad? Jecht: Yeah? Tidus: I hate you. Jecht: I know, I know. You know what you have to do. Tidus: Yeah. Jecht: I can't hear the Hymn so well anymore. Pretty soon, I'm gonna be Sin. Completely. I'm glad you're here now. One thing, though...When it starts, I won't be myself anymore. I won't be able to hold myself back. I'm sorry. Tidus: That's enough. Let's finish this, okay? Jecht: You're right. walks away. Well, then, let's go. Jecht is possessed by Yu-Yevon and falls from the platform. Tidus moves forward as if to help him. A moment later Braska's Final Aeon appears from over the edge where Jecht had fallen. Tidus: I promise this'll be quick. Hit me with all you got, Dad! Boss battle begins with "Otherworld" playing in the background. When the battle ends, the aeon falls to the ground, while Yu-Yevon escapes the dying Jecht-beast's body. After a shower of golden light, Jecht once again stands before the group. Jecht crumples to the ground; Auron turns sharply while Tidus rushes past him to reach his father. Tidus catches Jecht in his arms and they both sink to the ground. Jecht is laying on the ground, obviously dying, with his head resting against Tidus, who is visibly distraught. Jecht: You'll cry. You're gonna cry. See? You're crying. Tidus: crying. I hate you, Dad. Jecht: Save it for later. Tidus: Right, we've got a job to do, don't we? Jecht: Good. That's right. You are my son, after all. Tidus: For the first time, I'm glad...to have you as my father. After telling Yuna to summon her aeons, Jecht dies, dissolving into pyreflies. « back |
